A Country Inn, House #350 by Built4ever A Country Inn, House #350 by Built4ever
Of course it could be a private home too, but I imagined it as a small country inn with a dozen or more rooms and a small tavern to the left, set in a pristine rural location, hilly, "active" farmland, pastures and crops, etc.

Technique: Pencil sketch, original design, on 8 and a half inch by 11 inch paper, scanned and toned to terra cotta with software.

Every time I look at one of your designs I think, "Oh! I wanna live in that one!"
Then you post something else and I think, "Oh nevermind! That one!"
And it goes on and on!

Those guys above think it's a horse farm. I like ostrich farms even better. Free-range ostrich.

Perfect. I did that. I found old travel guides for cheap at used book stores and collected them. Some of my earliest sketches from 12 or more yrs ago were done with these. Cheaper than travelling to Europe.

Integrated walls tie the house to the land. Garden walls separate public from private. I actually need to put custom wrought iron gates in those doorways.

While practical, for the sake of the piece, iron gates would take away from the sense of invitation.

Love the columns at the entryway. The bay window above would be the perfect spot to curl up with a book and a fresh cup of coffee.
