A page of doorway details, including a watercolor sketch and some pencil sketches of door surrounds, moldings, etc. The watercolor illustrates a typical garden entrance to a "sideyard" house, a special type of home found only in Charleston, SC. They were set up so that all of them had multi-level side porches, 2 or 3 stories high, that faced Southwest to catch the prevailing breeze before there was A.C. So, in the above watercolor, you would enter into the side garden, go up some steps, and then enter into the home. The garden was semi-private. Gardens here are also pretty famous! Detailing is typically along Classical lines, following the conservative English taste of the time. There is also a French quarter here.

Beautiful designs, especially for #5. But then, I am a sucker for beach-theme centerpieces and slightly curved doorways.
