Pencil study of complex stone carving. It would take a lifetime for a stone mason to carve this.

Hah! This was submitted a day before my birthday! Awesome!

I think, because of the Gothic Style, they probably commissioned many many masons and architects to build this gorgeous chapel/church like design. During that time frame, France was rich and the church was growing rapidly.

Of course....you may already know that...and more. lol

Not so much, I study this architecture from afar. I'm better at American architectural history.

Ah, ok. I sort of try to not blab too much. I am studying in fine art and graphic design...so when I see something I know and studied I have a tendency to blabber. xD

You have a very good eye for detail though, and that is always a wonderful plus.

Don't worry. I like blabbering about architectural history. Please, please, keep blabbering!!!

Haha! Cool! I am mostly just a designer, but I tend to soak up tidbits from history. It all coincides with the field I am studying for. It's real cool to see things I recognize and can actually talk a little about. :3

The traditional architecture of my country is different from yours . You bring me another style of architecture. Thank you very much.

Well actually, those are in France of course, but I live in the U.S.! But where are you?

An very ancient country ——China.

Yes! Very ancient, and we here are very young. I was just discussing with others about Asian architecture with beautiful wooden structures and curved roofs, very very complex to build. Only an advanced civilization could do that.
