This has got to be one of my favorites... a master bedroom that opens up to a courtyard with a pool in it? I'll take it!

Looks great! I'd be interested to see what the 2nd floor looks like. From the top illustration it doesn't look like there's enough room to connect the 2nd floor area above the living room to the area above the master bedroom.

Good eyeballs. I believe I tested it with a cross section and actually, I don't remember the result! The main living area has a partial vaulted ceiling and loft, possibly with a walkway to the second floor over the master, or I might scratch that, do a vaulted ceiling over the master, and sheesh, I dunno, get creative somehow. I could leave it as a one bedroom home with a sleeping loft. Maybe guests could camp out in a tent.

something about the presentation, exterior details, and color give it such a fairly tale/storybook charm to it that makes this absolutely wonderful.

i was wondering though, what led to the decision of placing a door linking the two car garage and the master bath?

Good eye. Not sure if that should stay. I imagined this more as a retirement house for an older couple, so I wanted easy access to the garage and shop (The Man Cave!!) Usually, you would NEVER provide access to a private place like the master bath from a public domain. But the eraser can take care of it in a jiffy! Yes, not sure about it either...

I actually kind of liked the idea of of the garage opening into the master bath, been plenty of times I've walked into the house muddy and dirty and tried to make as least mess possible en route to the bathroom to clean up.

ahhh well if it's a retirement house for an older couple, it would definitely help with the functionality and circulation of the place.

regardless, having a man cave makes this building that much better!
