Twelve House Sweeping Perspective View by Built4ever Twelve House Sweeping Perspective View by Built4ever
This is an ambitious piece for sure. I rigged up a very wide streetview in full perspective of twelve of my house designs, as seen from afar. Most of these have full plans done, some of them in my gallery. A few, such as those in the center, have never been drawn in perspective, which is good, because then I can give them an almost "straight-on" view, and make them work in this multiple perspective shot. Most of them will be re-drawn. This is just a rough composite sketch. I have to integrate the landscaping, make the hill "work,", and make sure the houses at either end "fade" a bit and get smaller, just a wee bit. I suppose I have to draw them all separate and link them on the computer or something, I dunno. Any thoughts on this, ideas, suggestions before I go forward are appreciated. Lastly, I might put "corner" houses on both ends, generally Victorian style homes with three story towers and corner porches, making it 14 houses.

I love each one. Do you have plans (pardon the architecture pun) to post each individually with floor plans? I would love to see blueprint views.

Actually, there are various levels of plans for many of these in the gallery somewhere, mostly under the "300 series" folder. I have additional sketch plans in my extensive collection of sketches in binders. Some are "almost done," some just have a few design details and need lots of work still.

All I know is, this is an excellent idea and if this neighborhood was ever built it'd be one of the most beautiful in the world.

That's what I'm looking for. Keep in mind, the interiors are full off wood work, exposed timbers, other natural materials, so each one is beautiful inside also...

Indeed! I grew up with a drafting board in my room, both my parents were engineers... this was before AutoCAD or home computers... Although they were focused on the engineering aspects of various buildings I was always fascinated by the detail work. I think this stemmed from my grandparent's house which they built by hand, it had some good woodwork (be it, not as good as what I've seen you put together) but that handcrafted feel gives a house character and charm. This is what I've seen in your work. If I ever get around to building my own house, I think I know who to contact. ;)

You're too kind. I miss having them around, something nice about a good drafting board, computers take away some of feel. Having a TI calculator was the best, I still have several of mine somewhere.

I'm impressed. If only the everyday neighborhood had that kind of character. Good luck!

Some older neighborhoods do. A few new towns designed by Duany/Plater-Zyberk do too, see their website, DPZ.com.

It would be a very big project if you donot link them. And since I would guess this is to market a concept of how well they work together that only make for good business. The only other application would be some type of wall display because as they show up now the scale on any sort of printed brochure would not do them justice. Does any one still print brochures? I have been out of it so long everything now seems to either be projected or viewed on a tablet.

Brochure? What's a brochure? Some kind of appetizer?...Seriously, yes, one long drawing. Difficult to do on one piece of paper...

I think the twelve houses are enough. It's already a lot of houses and very ambitious. Looks cool so far.
