Rough sketch of a fantasy castle and bizarre landscape, with some other architectural feats on the distant peaks. I'm "letting it all loose," divorced from anything practical here, and combining different influences including retro-futurism (Sant Elia,) art deco, contemporary fantasy visions, medieval, and more. Bird's eye view, from the gondola of a steampunk airship? Sometimes quick, unfinished, loose sketches like this are still full of interesting ideas. This is definitely NOT typical of what I usually do, but let's your creative juices flow. One mountain looks like a twisted chocolate ice cream scoop melting away! Tasty! Is that an amphitheater at the bottom left, or the entrance to an amazing system of tunnels within the mountain? Work in progress, plenty of opportunity to place figures within the gondola looking down.
Technique: Small pencil sketch, scanned, darkened, toned, and lightly enhanced with minimal digital "washes".
ah you've gotta love fantasy~ have you designed an airship before? also i like the faint washes you've done- sort of loosens the picture up a bit to i think?
ahem..sorry ^^' ah cyber type ships huh? hm..i had a lot of fun trying to draw different airships out- like steampunk sort of... i guess the basic design of an airship is pretty flexible......
