Part of a commission project for Andrew Cooper, city was described verbally only and I took it from there. There is also a bird's eye view of the overall city and surrounding lands, which I might post separately. This is all part of a detailed RPG rules system/world developed by Andrew and colleagues, and these illustrations will go on the cover of his personally published guides for the various players.
I thought it was the style of the architecture
This is Andrew Cooper, for whom the above picture was made. I am amazed at Francois’ ability to take a handful of descriptions from the lore of my game world and come up with such a wonder. This depiction of Urna and its architecture make the city seem real in a way my descriptions to my players never could. Even if I did use 1000 words, as the saying goes.
The different world views of the organizations these two buildings typify is central to the themes in the games I run. It’s amazing how I can now see that conflict in these two monuments, so close in space but so different in style.
